Happy Saturday, Readers, T. C. Arc here! I can’t believe it, but it's already Thanksgiving break! I hope all of you are able to have a restful and fun break. It's also a great time to work on NaNoWriMo and writing in general. During the school year, it can be hard to have a consistent writing schedule so it's good to take advantage of any extra time, even if you are just jotting down a quick idea.
My short story, Hey There Delilah, is almost finished with the publishing process! So far it looks like I will be releasing it during the first week of December so please help spread the word! Keep reading this post to see a sneak peek of the cover XD. Working on editing and publishing this story has made me realize that there is still so much I can learn about writing which is both exciting and scary at the same time.
This leads me to ask myself: Where can I learn more? You are all probably wondering the same thing so I am here to share some resources!
Self-Publishing School
You can visit their website here and check out a bunch of free resources they provide. These services include a podcast, a blog, and webinars that are hosted pretty frequently. No matter what genre you like to write or what sort of information on publishing you are looking for, they have something for you.
Other Authors
I can’t speak for all authors, but many authors keep up a blog as well as their actual writing, pretty much like Silver Arc. So, you can definitely check their blogs as well, especially if you would like to learn more about their writing style and preferences. Some authors keep their blogs mostly focused on their personal updates, but an author that I know has some good resources is W.R. Gingell who we actually interviewed earlier this year! On her Youtube channel, she has been going live once a month to answer questions or give advice. The videos are saved to her channel even after the live ends so you can watch the videos anytime. You can also go back to any of the author interviews we have had over the year.
Silver Arc XD
Luckily, you Readers have two authors right here XD. If you ever have any writing questions or a topic you would like A.G. and I to cover, feel free to message them to us through the site on the ‘Contact’ page. You can also check out the resources we have on publishing, writing prompts, and more on the ‘For Writers’ page. On our Pinterest, you can check out books that we love, inspiration for our writing, and lots of character inspiration.
So, those are a few different free resources you can learn more from. Don’t ever be afraid to learn more, it will only help you in the long run! Since Thanksgiving is coming up, I just want to mention how thankful I am for all you Readers out there! I’m so proud of you all and I know you are all writing amazing things. Have an amazing break, see you next time!!
