Thomas and Delilah have been childhood friends forever. When Thomas has the chance to go to college and follow his dreams of a music career, the duo finds themselves a thousand miles apart.

Delilah stays home in New York City and starts college, looking for her own destiny and adjusting to life with Thomas not by her side. Thomas decides to write a song titled "Hey There Delilah," which he keeps secret until the long years of college are over and they can be together once more.
