Goooood morning readers, T.C. Arc here! It is currently 8:21 a.m. and no, I don’t usually write my blog posts this early. On the Silver Arc homepage, we say something about the “crazy author lives of two high schoolers just trying to figure out their daily word count”. Well, today I’m going to check in during my day and hopefully give you a glimpse into what a regular day looks like for me.
Before we start I want to wish everyone a happy December and congratulations to any of y’all who participated in NaNoWriMo! One of the hardest parts of writing is writing consistently and frequently. NaNoWriMo is a great way to help you build the habit of writing daily. Now, onto my day!
8:28 a.m. - On weekdays I get up at 7:30 a.m. so that I can have breakfast, get dressed for school, and start school around eight in the morning. For breakfast, I had a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios as usual. I texted my friends good morning, put on some music, and now it's time for school!
10:38 a.m. - Alrighty, most of my school work is done. I have an online class at 2 p.m., so I’m going to work on the numerous essays I have assigned at the moment and something for a student government program I’m a part of. A.G. is also done with her work so we got on a hangouts call.
11:38 a.m. - A.G. and I are still talking ahaha. We discussed a project we hope to put in place in the far off future. We video chat almost every day, normally we chat for a little bit and then just do our school work while on the call. Weirdly enough, we concentrate really well while on a call. Singing is also a normal happening, sometimes two different songs at once, sometimes actual practicing. Lately we have been working on the song I Hope You’re Happy Now by Carly Pierce. It's one of the only country songs I like XD. I’ve also made significant progress on my government project, and I’m sending it to my section leader for any corrections.
11:58 a.m. - You guessed it...I’m still talking to A.G. Since I got some good work done on my school, I have some leftover time which I’m using to write for A Heart Adrift. A few nights ago I had some great inspiration before bed so all the plotting for the scene is already done, I just have to write it!
12:20 p.m. - Time for lunch! A.G. and I got off the call, and I wrote a little bit.
12:54 p.m. - I finished lunch and hung out with my little brother for a bit. For lunch I had a classic PB&J sandwich :). Now I’m going to help my sister with her Latin and practice a new piece I'm learning on the piano. Most songs I learn are from movies, the new piece I'm learning is Love from the animated Disney Robin Hood.
4:21 p.m. - So, I have finished my class after much chaos. Our internet crashed right before I was supposed to log on for the actual class so I had to frantically switch between devices. Thankfully, it started working again and the rest of the class continued without any further hitches. I only have an online class on Thursdays, so normally during that time I would work out or walk my dog. Now I’m on another video call with A.G. and a close friend of mine. I guess since I can’t see many people in person I’m making up for it with video calls.
5:20 p.m.- I get off the call to hang out with siblings.
5:45 p.m. - My mom is napping so I helped heat up leftovers for dinner and make hot chocolate. I also check my sister's math homework.
6:00 p.m. - my little brother chased me around the kitchen and then things finally started to wind down for the evening. I sat by the fire with some hot chocolate and Christmas music and just savored some quiet XD. My favorite Christmas song is White Christmas (even if where I live barely ever gets snow). White Christmas also happens to be my favorite Christmas movie. Pentatonix, Micheal Buble, and Train have some of the best Christmas music in my opinion.
9:45 p.m. - Well, it's almost time for me to hit the hay. In the evening, I usually hang out with my siblings until they go to bed and then I watch a show. But of course, our internet is down again…Lately, AG. And I have been obsessed with the show Once Upon A Time. It's a combination of fairy tales and urban fantasy and there are so many plot twists it's insane. In the evening, I usually text my friends again. My family loves to decorate for all sorts of seasons and celebrations so I’m going to help my mom put some more Christmas decorations up.
10:15 p.m. - I’m quite the night owl, and my brain is veryy active at night. Since it is so quiet in the house, it is the perfect time for some reflection on how the day has gone. I’ve been focusing so much on the essays I have assigned and how much work I have to do, but I also need to realize all the things I got done. Life is so crazy sometimes but there is so much good that comes out of each day.
Thanks for coming along on my day, I hope you all enjoyed the post, Goodnight!
