Hello Readers. T.C. Arc here! Remember two weeks ago when we shared our resolutions for Silver Arc? Well thanks to you we’ve already reached all of them!! The community has grown to over 250 people including 12 countries. Just last week we were able to interview the amazing C.J. Hawthorne and we have more interviews planned for this year. All that A.G. and I can say is THANK YOU!! Y’alls constant support means the world to us.
Now, to the topic of the post. Over the last year I’ve kept track of what books I’ve read in a really fun way.
Above is a really bad pic of how I kept track of the books I read, but you get the idea. You can look up pictures of “Reading Log Bookshelf” and blank versions of what I did should come up. After you finish reading a book you can write the title in one of the books on the paper. I like to decorate each book a little with color themes or symbols that remind me of the book.
Don’t be alarmed if you don’t have any books in mind to read because I’m going to give some recommendations for different age groups. Keep in mind that I mostly read fantasy books so I’m sorry if you don’t see any recommendations for your favorite genre.
13+/YA Recommendations
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
Genres: Fantasy, Romance, and Sci-fi
I started this series at the beginning of COVID unaware the characters of this series have their own plague to worry about called letumosis.
Large cast of amazing diverse characters who band together to defeat the evil Lunar queen
The banter between characters is pure gold
The City Between Series by W.R. Gingell
Genres: Urban Fantasy with an element of Mystery
A human girl becomes a “pet” of sorts for two fae and a vampire as they search for the answers to fae murders.
Heartless also by Marissa Meyer
Genres: Fantasy and Romance
Set in Wonderland, this book is a spinoff of Alice in Wonderland
I finished this book all in one crazy day, the ending left me shook
Second Age of Retha Series by K.M. Shea
Genres: “A MMORPG and LitRPG Online Adventure”
The main character, Kit, returns to a full submersion video game she hadn’t played for awhile. As a joke, her cousin gives her game character the worst stats possible.
All fun and games until the game’s servers malfunction and everyone is stuck in the game. The only way out: to beat the game.
Hilarious characters whose banter is also gold.
Even if you don’t play video games I would highly recommend this series.
9-12 Book Recommendations
The Penderwick Series by Jeanne Birdsall
Genre: Fiction
“tells the story of the Penderwicks, a family that believes in truth and honor, yet can’t seem to stay out of trouble.”
I’ve read this whole series at least twice if not three times. It’s made me laugh many times as well as cry.
Little Women Trilogy by Louisa May Alcott (or anything by her honestly)
Genre: Fiction and Comedy
This series easily makes it onto my favorite books list
“More than anything else, Little Women is a coming-of-age story – specifically for Jo March, but more generally for all of the March sisters and even their friend Laurie”
The Terrible Two Series by Jory John and Mac Barnett
Genre: Fiction and Comedy
Miles was the best known prankster at his old school but now he’s moved to an extremely boring school with its own supreme prankster. Let the epic prank battle begin!
I haven’t read this series in a long time but I do remember that it was hilarious.
Okay that should be enough books to get you all started this year XD. I wanted to add more but we would be here the rest of 2021 so maybe I can continue this later. Enjoy your weekend Readers!
