This is T.C. Arc and today, I have a couple of announcements for a project! I have been working on a short story for a few months titled Hey There Delilah. Some of you might be thinking “isn’t that a song?” You would be correct. Hey There Delilah is a song that actually inspired me to write the story.
One night I was singing the song to myself when *lightbulb* I had an idea for a story! I jumped out of bed and started scribbling down ideas until I realized I had to sleep. If you read Silver Arc's first blog you would know that I finished the first draft! Yay! You would also now that I'm starting the second draft. As of right now Hey There Delilah only has six Google Doc pages. However, I would really like to expand the story and I recently added almost two more pages.
For me Hey There Delilah is such a big deal because it is my first serious attempt at writing. Even with this little project, there were so many times where I doubted if the writing was good, or to continue other projects but a fellow author encouraged me to keep writing and now I'm able to look at a completed first draft! And now, for a sneak peek!
Thomas and Delilah have been childhood friends forever but when Thomas has the chance to go to college and follow his dreams of a music career the duo finds themselves a thousand miles apart. Delilah stays home in NYC and starts college, looking for her own destiny and adjusting to life with Thomas not by her side. Thomas decides to write a song titled Hey There Delilah which he keeps secret until the long years of college are over and they can be together once more. A fictional story behind the popular song, Hey There Delilah is a story of perseverance, friendship and love.
Hopefully you enjoyed the synopsis, and I promise this is not the last time you will hear of the story.
During this summer, I hope you all are staying busy and healthy! I have been doing a lot of crafts lately including punch needling a pillow, embroidering a lampshade, and stenciling a small book holder. Don’t be fooled that I am actually good at crafts however- I have a crafting kit that comes in every month with all the supplies I need, and then I watch a video to learn how to do the projects. My stitches are less than perfect and I tend to color a little outside the lines but I’m staying busy and it's very fun (I also listen to music while crafting which is a plus).
That is all for now but stay tuned for more updates! Tata for now readers, and have a lovely week!
