I know this is a little late, but today I have the synopsis of my first novel as promised! So far I have completed four chapters, minus a few scenes, and I am in the middle of the fifth chapter. The book politics are slowing me down because I, too, detest writing about politics. However, I am determined to keep writing, bit by bit.

This is the only work of writing I have actually started from just sitting down and trying to think of a good story. All of my other short stories have been inspired by songs or life experiences. I adore dragons and I haven’t found a book about dragons that I really liked, so I decided to write one myself. The novel is a combination of fantasy, romance, and young adult genres. The title I have at the moment is a working title and it will most likely change once I have finished the novel. And I’m not sure what else to say about the novel so without further ado, I introduce to you….Way of the Dragon!

With the looming prospect of war, Princess Adele of Altior leaves her country and family behind to act as ambassador to Tarriloagonian, land of the dragons. Adele is not alone however, her loyal Bond dragon and friend, Peridot, accompanies her as always. Upon her arrival in Tarriloagonian, as the first visitor to the country in over a decade, riots break out across the dragon lands.

Despite their differences, Adele and Flynn become close friends, bonding over Adele’s fascination with dragons, and Flynn’s terrible scholarly skill. They planned it as a marriage of convenience to grow the bond between their countries and achieve standing peace. But what if their marriage could be more than that?

Sawyer lives in the coastal town of Mare Seaton, a town centered around trading ships and the sea. However, he much prefers the land to the wide-open waters until the exuberant sailor and adventurer Flanna comes into port. Flanna falls in love with the small coastal town, and, perhaps, the bashful land lover who lives there. Will Sawyer’s steady life be enough for Flanna’s wandering spirit, or will the ocean’s call beckon her away once more?
