Howdy, Readers, T.C. Arc here! I hope you are all doing well! Somehow, the summer has to come to an end and school has started again. But, that doesn’t mean all the fun has to stop! I’m a planner when it comes to everything…except my writing. So, in this post, I’ll share my plans for this school year.
It may seem like all I have talked about lately is music, but I can’t help it! At the end of July, I experienced the best week of my life when I got to study voice performance at my dream college. I had my first vocal performance and I received so many touching compliments that made me doubly motivated to pursue music when I returned home. Even though I am not able to attend actual voice lessons due to my schedule, I have plans to help me keep expanding my singing skills at home.
Each month, I am challenging myself to learn three new songs. One of them will be in a foreign language, one of them will be in English, and the third song will either be for the ukulele or piano (I’m going to alternate between the two instruments each month). The main musical skills I’m trying to expand this year are my range, stability, pronunciation of different languages, and familiarity with instruments. This month the songs I’m learning are I’ll Try by Day6 (foreign), In Case You Don’t Live Forever by Ben Platt (English), and Christmas Tree by V (ukulele).
Now, back to writing XD. Right now, I am planning on publishing my novella, A Heart Adrift, at the beginning of January 2023! I have some other exciting news regarding that story, but I think I will save that for another post bwahaha. I’ve gathered a lot of ideas lately for poetry, so I will continue to be working on my collection. That will most likely be my next published work after A Heart Adrift. Fingers crossed that it is published in late 2023 or early 2024!
Word of the Week: Keystone
Pronunciation: kee-stone
Definition: the wedge-shaped piece at the crown of an arch that locks the other pieces in place
Example: Until the keystone was placed, it was unsafe for passersby to pass by the construction.
