Howdy, Readers! T.C. Arc here! Recently, I’ve fallen in love with cartoon drawings. A.G. and I both strive to find joy in simple things and for me, cartoons are a great example of that. They aren’t extremely detailed, they may only have a few colors but they still manage to capture so much beauty. Cartoons that depict a happy couple move me so much because they are so innocent but there is so much love present.
It helps me remember that even though great accomplishments are cool, all I really need are great friends and family. Naturally, since I was moved by these cartoons, I just had to write a poem about them. So, I present to you Cartoon Love written by yours truly!
Cartoon Love
Cartoons innocently capture true love.
Simple lines and colors can illustrate
relationships prepared by God above;
Souls made to be forever best playmates.
A shared smile forever in color,
The rising steam of coffee over mugs,
Silhouettes of midnight twirls and strolls,
Just one of the many warm, cozy hugs
All this beauty from a simple cartoon.
Maybe love isn’t as extravagant
As the world thinks. The morning coming soon
May bring your smallest but best moment yet.
Open your heart to the cartoon’s silliness.
Loving simpler won’t make your life any lesser.
P.S. - For the month of August, the word of the week category is craftsmanship-related words!
Word of the Week: Adroitness
Pronunciation: uh-droyt-nuhs
Definition: skillfulness; cleverness that achieves one's purpose in spite of difficulties
Etymology: Adroit goes back to an Old French word meaning "handsome or elegant" as well as "skilled in combat.”
Example: Although she was less experienced than others, her adroitness helped her come out on top.
