Hello Readers! A.G. Silver here! So sorry for the delay in posts- once again, T.C. Arc and I have become incredibly busy. I recently got back from going from once city to another for about 3 weeks and yeah, it was hectic but I loved it. I had 2 camps, and then a film internship- which, yes it was the most amazing internship EVER and I had an amazing time.
To sum up what happened, I went to LA for about a week and a half. Each day We would wake up at 7, eat, and then go straight into a bunch of meetings and workshops. Each day I met with about 3-7 professionals in various fields of the film industry, and they would talk about how they got to their current work positions, their favorite things in their jobs, setbacks, etc. Then we would visit studios and various workplaces and sometimes take part in the work- so I got to do some voice acting which was super cool!
A few of the people I met with include the head editor for Marvel’s Moon Knight, one of the Emmy-award-winning writers of Gilmore Girls, an Emmy-nominated cinematographer, and one of the writers of Criminal Minds. So yeah, it was insane and awesome, and wow wow wow everyone was amazing. They all had a lot of really good things to say about the industry, and really helpful insight when it came to putting your foot in the door and starting your career.
The best part of the internship was that we got to make our own short film which was then judged by the professionals that we met, and they gave us really helpful feedback. It was a little scary at first, if I’m being honest because we had not been told our short film would be judged- just that we were going to make one for fun. So there I was, starring in the film with one of the girls I just met, laughing and having fun, and then boom. We get told ‘oh yeah by the way, that Emmy-nominated cinematographer and those other people you met? They’re gonna come watch your film and give you feedback!’.
Definitely stressful to hear but we still had tons of fun, and we were pleasantly surprised by how much they liked our short film! (Which by the way, we had… a total of like 4 hours to make. So props to us lol)
If you would like to watch it, here is the link to the YouTube video, provided by my lovely new friend, Kayla, a super cool aspiring film editor I met in LA!
Feel free to leave a comment and let us know how we did XD! You’ll get to see me acting for the first time, which is totally not nerve-wracking for me to think about lol. Hope you enjoy!
Not onto some more bookish talk- I’m pleased to announce I have an editor working on Villain! They should be done within the week, and then I’ll move onto formatting my novel! If all goes well, Villain should be available within the next few months. I have an ideal release date in mind, but I won’t say anything until everything is in place ahaha.
I hope y’all have had a good past few weeks, and best of luck to everyone who is starting school soon/has already started school! Fighting! I believe in y’all, and I hope you have the best school year!
See you on the author side!
