Happy Saturday Readers, T.C. Arc here! We’ve made it through another week so congratulations on all your accomplishments this week, big or small! Today I want to talk about an important aspect of writing that rests at the heart of Silver Arc.
This aspect is authenticity. Now, what exactly is authenticity? It is the quality of being authentic or being true to one's own personality, spirit, or character. Through social media, our parents, and our friends, we hear so many things that we should believe or what the “correct” way to act is. However, if we always just go along with the flow we can become lost and have no idea who we truly are.
The best way to live authentically is to make choices. Yep, you heard me right, all you have to do is make choices. These choices can be small such as introducing music you like to other people or reading a new genre because you are interested in trying it out. Or, these choices can be bigger, like pursuing a less common career path because you know you won’t be happy with a typical job or taking a major leap out of your comfort zone. All of these choices have one thing in common. You chose to do it. You deemed it worthy of your time and energy so you did it. Nobody forced these things onto you and other people may not even have agreed with your choices.
As long as your choices aren’t morally wrong, however, I wouldn’t be too worried about having made the “wrong” choice. Through these choices, we discover what we do and don’t like and what values we hold dear.
That’s all for today Readers- I will do a part 2 next week!
