Happy Saturday, Readers! T.C. Arc here. Today, I want to emphasize the impact of words, specifically written words. Before I jump in, I wrote a sonnet about the topic so here you go!
My Silent Roar
I hesitantly lowered my hand.
I averted the gaze of those around.
Thoughts still crowded me, even if I ran.
My voice was lost and couldn't be found.
I knew I had important words to share
And my questions longed to be answered.
I couldn’t convince myself not to care
Or blame myself for just being a nerd.
So, I showed them what my writing could do.
They read my words over and asked for more,
I discovered my newfound purpose too.
Without my voice, they still heard a roar.
My writing is a lion untameable
And with it, I pursue the once unattainable.
I truly believe that writing impacts others every day and there is no reason that your own writing can’t leave a lasting impression on others. I sometimes wish that writing didn’t reveal so much of my inside thoughts, but on the other hand, it is also really helpful. Personally, I like speaking and debating but there are certain times when I feel like I can’t voice an issue. When that happens, I know I can write about it and now those thoughts usually become the inspiration for a new poem.
If you have thoughts you don’t feel you can voice, or an issue that you think others should pay attention to, I encourage you to express it in words. Your message can be embedded in a story, essay, poem, or any form you think fits best. Don’t let fear stop you from sharing your opinion; your opinion matters.
Have a wonderful week and write great things, Readers! See you next time!
