Hello, hello lovely Readers! A.G. Silver here! This month is NaNoWriMo. It has been going on for a week now, and I thought I’d check in on y’all and see how your writing is going.
If you haven’t been able to work on writing much, or you are just not sure what to do with NaNo, I have some tips for you.
A lot of people think they need to have a fully planned out novel in order to do NaNo, which isn't true. There are many stages of writing, and each of them is as important as the other. No matter what part of the writing stage you are on, NaNo can help you keep track of what you are doing.
No comparing your writing! Don’t look at someone else’s writing and feel bad about your own- we are all learning and improving our writing. It just takes practice. You are doing amazing wherever you are.
Don’t be worried about the 50,000 word count. If it makes you work better, set a smaller word count for yourself. Don’t force yourself to shoot out words that you’ll end up deleting later. Use your time to get a good word count of useful writing.
Support each other! It’s surprisingly easier to write when you see that your friends are succeeding and reaching their own word count as well. You feel motivated to succeed together. (Hint hint, so if you haven’t already, join the Silver Arc NaNo group!)
Speaking of writing and reaching word counts, T.C. Arc has finished writing Hey There Delilah, has the interior formatted, and should be getting the cover back in a day or two. So be on the lookout for updates on when the official book will be released!
Apologies if this post isn’t as long as usual, I have not been feeling the best lately, which does take a small toll on my writing. But I hope this helps, and I wish you all the best on your writing endeavors. See you all next week- ciao and see you on the author side!
