Hello Readers! A.G. Silver here! I hope you’ve had a lovely week <3
T.C. celebrated her birthday this week, so if you haven’t already, send her your birthday wishes.
So onto what I’ve been doing with my writing! I’ve worked a tad more on my dark fantasy novel but I honestly have not worked on it much this week. I’ve been really busy with babysitting, cross country practice, embroidery (I run a small embroidery business in my local community), and seeing friends one last time before we go to our separate schools. I am no longer going to homeschool this year, which I am very glad about because it was tough to not see people during the pandemic and I grew very lonely.
One thing I did to pass the time was songwriting, which is what my post will be. I would have random bouts of inspiration that would result in song lyrics instead of a novel idea, and as that happened more and more throughout this past year, I would end up with a few different complete songs. Obviously, as a newbie songwriter, the lyrics were not amazing (kind of like when you were in 3rd grade and started writing a book. It’s not as good as when you would write when you were in 8th grade), but they still held meaning to me. I practiced more and more, refining the lyrics and having them make more sense, and eventually, I ended up with one song that I really liked. It holds so much meaning to me and is very comforting to read over the lyrics.
Now while I can kind of write lyrics, and I’m a decent singer (I’ve done choir since 4th grade), I am NOT a composer. Writing all the notes and then putting all the different instruments and noises together is definitely not my forte. So I’m currently working with someone who is helping me compose the song. I’m super excited for when the music will be finished, and I’ll record the lyrics.
Before you get all excited, I do not currently have a recording microphone, so I will need to find one before I can record. I also would like to put out a few cover songs before releasing my own music, just so I’m not putting out an original song with no ‘previous credit’ if you get what I mean. That’s just a personal preference for me because I feel more comfortable putting out my singing that way. Obviously, everyone is different. Some people prefer to do only original songs. And if that’s you, awesome!
So yeah that’s what I’ve been up to lately. I’m excited because school starts for me in about 9 days- which will make Silver Arc posts a bit harder to write because I will be busy, and I bet T.C. will be busy as well BUT Silver Arc is always a priority so never fear, you will still have your weekly posts (with the exception of finals week. We may or may not take a short hiatus then because of all the crazy studying. But that’s in December so we still have plenty of time.)
I hope you Readers have a good last few days of summer vacation, or if you’ve already started school, I hope you’re having a wonderful time! That’s all for this week! Ciao and see you on the author side!
