Hello Hello my lovely Readers! I hope you have had a wonderful week!
I just watched the movie Dune yesterday and wow it was… something hahaha. The cinematography was really good (and the main character was pretty cute *cough cough*), but I got a little lost with all the weird cults and what not. I know the directors were doing the usual “show don’t tell” kind of thing, but I feel like parts of this film should be an exception to that. Instead of just assuming that we will know what’s going on, I felt like the directors should have added in a few casual scenes where the main character’s mother or father casually explain things that are going on, that way the audience can get a little more information. It was still a good movie though!
Anywayyyy for this week's post, I wanted to talk about working with other authors. Recently, Anjolie and I started planning a book we want to write together, and we are both very excited. Right now it is just for fun, but who knows, maybe eventually we will want to publish it.
T.C. Arc and I have done something like this in the past, where we write a story together, and while we haven’t finished the story yet (we kinda sorta haven’t worked on it in a year but we’ve both been busy with separate writing endeavors and Silver Arc so…) it is something we both greatly enjoy working on when we have time.
If you have any friends who like to write, I highly encourage working on a project together because it is a great way to see how other people plan (or don’t plan haha) their writing. You also get to see how they craft their characters, tropes they enjoy writing, and all sorts of unique things about their writing. Besides, two minds are better than one, and you can come up with some really fascinating plot lines.
Another bonus is you getting some valuable life lessons in learning to work with other people, meeting ‘deadlines’, and communicating. Even if you aren’t in it for the life lessons, isn’t fun to do something you enjoy with people you love?
So this week- or next week- I highly encourage you to find a friend and plan out a story together, whether that be a short story, a novel, or if you are crazy ambitious, a series.
Love you Readers, and I hope next week is kind to you! See you on the author side!
