Happy Saturday Readers! Today I have a special treat for y’all! This morning it was raining and I was listening to calm music when inspiration hit for a poem. I finished a whole poem in sonnet form and I’m really happy with how it turned out so I’m going to post it here!
The Rain Psalm by T.C. Arc
Lights, camera, action, so very busy
However, I’m doing nothing with my time.
Aimlessly wander, thoughts in a tizzy
Frustrated life has no reason or rhyme.
Pitter pat pat, a storm starts to brew.
Strangely, my thoughts start to calm inside.
Music on, the melody takes its cue.
Lights dim, and with that, the cruel lies subside.
Raindrops on the window, breathe in and out
Rolling thunder rolls my worries away
My mind has cleared without a single doubt
I can carry on for another day
I am the eye of the storm where its calm,
Anxieties drowned out by the rain psalm.
I forgot to mention in my ‘Sonnet Study’ post a few weeks ago that even though many famous sonnets are themed around love, they can be about anything. The poem I just shared with y’all is about the feelings I had at the moment really. I was listening to calm music in my room and I only had my lamps on so it was dim in my room. During summer vacation a lot of times I get frustrated with myself because I’m not doing anything with my time and since I’m not doing school I’m not sure what to do. However, I feel really calm when it’s raining for some reason thus this poem was born XD.
That’s it for today! A.G. and I are going out of town this next week so once again apologies if the post is late/short. I hope you are all enjoying your summer, see you next time!!
