Howdy, Readers, T.C. Arc here! There is T-minus 6 days until Christmas and I cannot believe it! Since my family is staying in town for the holidays, I have been going on a reading marathon and taking advantage of as much time as possible. My sisters have constantly talked about a series called The Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger for months. So, since I’m currently out of new reading material, I decided I would give the series a go. Thankfully I have not been disappointed with the books and they are long enough to hopefully keep me occupied awhile (or at least until I see what books I get for Christmas XD).
The books are a fantasy fiction series revolving around Sophie Foster as she figures out more about her abilities as a telepath and why she is the key to her brand-new world before the wrong person finds the answer first. The series also contains hilarious and touching friendships as well as suspenseful action and thrilling magic. The official age range the books cater towards is grades 4th - 8th but I still find them very interesting and entertaining. Long story short, the series is great and I encourage y’all to check it out!
Now…let’s address the possible elephant in the room, shall we? I’ve been starting to promote my short story Hey There Delilah and I’ve mentioned several times it will be out this month but you are probably wondering if it will ever come out. I’ve experienced setback after setback and sometimes I feel like I should just cancel the release. If everything had gone well, the story should have been published weeks ago. Still, I’ve put a lot of work into this story and I’m really excited to finally share a full story of mine with y’all. So, I’m really hoping it will be available this week. Keep your eyes peeled for any updates that are sent out this week about it and a few prayers wouldn’t hurt as well XD.
Lastly, I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas break and is able to enjoy it with family! Around the holidays, many people spend it with others so, here is a poem to help you keep in mind how you can make the most of your family time. Enjoy and have a wonderful week, Readers!
The Listener
By T.C. Arc
There is one who listens to all that come.
Listening and talking they do that and more.
The phrase “because that’s what friends are for”
Could have been created by them. And from
The bottom of their heart they heal the glum.
Loving stems from the center of their core
However, I think I’ve heard this before,
That giving so much can make you hit a slump.
I want to listen to the listener,
Hear their good and bad over a good cup
Of tea. Ranting or crying won’t faze me.
From this bleeding heart to a close other,
It may take some time to open up,
But you better believe you can count on me.
