Last week was a bit off schedule because I caught a cold but I'm feeling much better now and so today's post is a tad longer to make up for last week, enjoy!
Now that school is back in session a certain type of writing is taking over writing for fun. That’s right, you guessed it, essays, papers, and assignments, oh my! Today I’m going to give some pointers that will hopefully help you all in your academic writing ventures.

First I want to say I’m so sorry for making y'all wait so long for a blog post today. Secondly, I know some of you are probably confused. You may have noticed that today was T.C. Arc’s day for a blog post. Sadly, she came down with a cold which caused her to fall behind in school work and other things. Of course we put her health and school before the blog, so I decided to write a quick little post explaining what was going on.

This week's post is gonna be about a very fun topic- T.C. and I’s dogs!
This week's post is gonna be about a very fun topic- T.C. and I’s dogs!
My dog is a black and white Pyredoodle (Great Pyrenees and standard Poodle mix) named Adelaide, and T.C.'s is a Havishon (Havanese and Bishon mix) named Cocoa. So T.C. has had Cocoa for almost three years, while I recently got Adelaide in early June of this year. Here are some pictures of our puppies, with a little bit of background. Enjoy!

So for about a month now, I haven’t really been doing any writing- mainly just searching for book cover artists, editors, and typesetters. If you hadn’t read the updated homepage, I have finally finished working with all my editors for Elven Cursed- and I’m looking for a typesetter.
But other than that, I haven’t focused on writing another story. I may occasionally add a little snippet to a random chapter of a random story, but working full time on a new novel is not my thing at the moment.

I know this is a little late, but today I have the synopsis of my first novel as promised! So far I have completed four chapters, minus a few scenes, and I am in the middle of the fifth chapter. The book politics are slowing me down because I, too, detest writing about politics. However, I am determined to keep writing, bit by bit.

So this week I’m going to give you some tips on staying productive with your writing. I mean, be honest, how many times have you kind of sat down at your computer, and then just scrolled through Pinterest, looking at cool drawings or cute animals? Too many times, I’ll bet.

Even though I have only recently sent out my requests for publishers and/or agents, I’ve already had my first ‘yes’!?

Crazy, right? Normally, authors will be sending out at least 30 queries and take a year to wait for a positive response. Yours truly has sent out eight queries and already gotten a positive response. I’ve been communicating with the publishers and I got to say its one heck of a rollercoaster. So first off let me explain the process, that way everything makes sense, but also so you future authors out there can have a little something to help you.

Wowsers, so I never realized the fine line between magic and science in writing.
Wowsers, so I never realized the fine line between magic and science in writing.
Yes, I have read those quotes and all that where people say, “Magic is just science too complex for you to understand.” Which means, depending on your knowledge of science, anything could be magic. Without knowing chemical reactions and the like, mixing mentos and soda to cause an explosion could be seen as magic (at least in medieval times. ;p ).

If you didn’t already know I LOVE succulents. They are pretty low maintenance and very pretty, and I don’t know if I have any other reasons, but I just really like them. Around last Christmas, I bought two succulents one of them is named Gwendafyn, a Dark Elf Hybrid succulent and my other succulent is Rakel, a Pacific Ice Blue succulent (who knew succulents could have such cool names, right?).

Is it just me or do any of y’all have the issue of an over-imaginative brain? Like, I’ll be writing for whatever story is most important at the moment, and I come up with an idea I want to add in, but it doesn’t really go with the story. When it doesn’t go that well with the story, I make a note and set it aside, only to ponder on the scene idea, hence coming up with an entire story idea.

That has happened for… 95% of the novels I have planned. I kid you not, only 5% of them were from me sitting down and thinking ‘what would make a good book plot?’. All the others were from random inspiration of other books I’m writing.

Greetings Readers! This is T.C. Arc and today, I have a couple of announcements for a project! I have been working on a short story for a few months titled Hey There Delilah. Some of you might be thinking “isn’t that a song?” You would be correct. Hey There Delilah is a song that actually inspired me to write the story.

One night I was singing the song to myself when *lightbulb* I had an idea for a story! I jumped out of bed and started scribbling down ideas until I realized I had to sleep. If you read Silver Arc's first blog you would know that I finished the first draft! Yay! You would also now that I'm starting the second draft. As of right now Hey There Delilah only has six Google Doc pages. However, I would really like to expand the story and I recently added almost two more pages.

Holy guacamole it has been a hard week. Remember that 65,000-word book I told you about last blog post? Well, I was blessed to find two extremely amazing editors who are working on it right now. (A miraculous occurrence that I am grateful for) and as much as I appreciate their work, my heart breaks to see how many words are considered ‘unnecessary’. I sent chapters 1-6 to my first editor and I had a condensed version of 62 pages. Once she worked her magic and sent back the document, I went through and edited everything only to find that I now had a condensed 56 pages. How did I lose so many pages?! I lost like a day’s worth of writing within a matter of an hour and a half. That shouldn’t even be legal.

Well, this is exciting, our first blog post! So first of all, this blog is a great opportunity to expand our writing skills. A post a week will keep those writing gears running when writer’s block decides to kick in. (And my fellow authors who also experience writer’s block all the time… you get what I mean.) T.C. and I will be switching back and forth between who posts a blog each time, though occasionally we will write one together if it is something major that deals with both of us. (like a possible duo-author novel…) So let the fun and games begin!
